Marmarıs - Turkey
3rd stop of the World Tour '08

Fınally after 5 days of saılıng ın the Medıterrean Sea, ı've reached Turkey. the naval port was by the name of Aksaz naval port. On the fırst ımpressıon, ı was told that thıs wıll be a nıce country, ın fact, ı am not wrong.

As Aksaz ıs a naval port, nothıng lıke shops or busıness wıll be found there. Sınce there's nothıng ın Aksaz, Marmarıs ıs the next best cıty nearest to Aksaz. Here ın Marmarıs, ıt ıs ındeed alot lıke toulon where my last port of call was.
As ı was sayıng, Marmarıs ıs quıte lıke toulon. Many small boats and yatches can be found along the beaches and coastal lıne.

Well, wıth only 3days of shore leave, nothıng much can be expected. However the tour at Effesus and the boat rıde today was great! Seeıng thıngs that can never be seen ın sıngapore ıs the best thıng. Money cant buy memorıes nor experıence. How many chances can you get ın Sıngapore to see such nıce natural beautıful scenerıes? lol, though there ıs, but ıts only a mınımal.
I wıll be settıng off tomorrow mornıng for Mumbaı, Indıa. Wısh me a smooth saılıng ahead!
ps: ım usıng a turkısh keyboard whıch the letter "ı" does not have a dot on the roof. lol

Goodbye France..!!Land ahoy to Turkey!

Guess in 2 days time my ship will be letting go all lines to sail for Turkey. Have been staying here for almost 7 and a half weeks, felt quite a pity to leave this place for good.
A place where i called home for 7 weeks, Toulon is where my ship docked. Facing the Meditteranean sea, i have been observing every single sunset since the day when lines are casted from my ship to touch land. At the first glance, it wasnt that impressive at all, till when i explore further down the street then i started to see beautiful things.

It has never been easy staying here even for a few days, let alone several weeks. Guess how bad it is. The weather, has been fairly friendly to us when we touched down. However as time goes by, wind started to reach 30 to 40 knots, and temperature started to drop till a single digit of 5degrees Celcius. Even our navy ensign has creased so much till it looks like an Irish pennant. But it beats having a 32degC temperature with hot scorching sun shining at you at every instant back home.
With every week we had to go out for rehearsals, sea states can hit easily up to 5 with 3 as a benchmark. We survived. Survived through horrible storms and winds, survived through waves of several metres tall. Mind over body i should say, it is the mental determination that brings me through all the sea practices.
And finally, it goes off. During the actual run, with the Minister onboard, the missile goes off. We are successful.

It is never easy at the beginning. Just before we reached Toulon, we have been hit. By a storm of 15 nautical miles away, the eye of the storm can be seen from the bridge. We pushed through.
Meditteranean sea, we conquer!
Till then, wish me a successful trip to Anksa. Mèrci.

PARIS!!!!

Paris, capital of France, with the most famous structures and buildings, stands in front of me. This place, which i call human haven, is so far one of the best places i've been to.
i havent been to such a lovely beautiful place ever in my 2 decades of life. to say the word 'wow' at first sight shows how nice this place is. pardon me if u have been to paris.
basically this city is full of rich people around and u can see 'class' that is genuine. people in fact display 'class' wherever they go. unlike many other cities, i should say paris has the most number of tourists in France.
2 days in paris is never enough i should say. i was rushing my way to take pictures beyond arrival till midnight, and its drizzling for the whole day. wind at 15 knots with temperature of 2-9 degC came like nothing. however it is the monuments and arts that impressed me.
mona lisa and many other ancient paint and artworks are everywhere, as long as u are in the museum. Museè de Louvrè, the place where u can find the most famous oil paintings from the world. Arc de triomphè where u can find nice carvings. St. Michel Notrè dame where u can see the most ancient church ever in the world which is 2 millenium yrs old.
All i can say is that its really wonderful.
Only a word to describe Paris - 'Heavenly'.

perhaps i've not been updating long enough..
here's a short update: yup! we are successful!
well, at least at the halfway line of our deployment, we have successfully tested our newest weapon, and it is a real success. for more info you can visit the following website from CNA:
so far so good.
well, i've been to Cannes and Monaco the past 2 weeks. both places are pretty nice! especially cannes, with the beach views and nice sunsets. i've indeed taken tons of pictures over these 2 places, just that i do not have time to upload them.
back to soccer, oh yes! the so great Manchester United has won AS Roma in Champions League! its 2-0 on roma soil. so its definitely a great chance for man utd to qualify for the semi finals! and the recent EPL clash with Aston Villa, its a whooping 4-0 at home soil. way to go man utd!
i miss home too. its been around a month since i left on the 10th. i missed jin's birthday too! heard its been pretty exciting. anyway hope everyone enjoys and are happy. =D
Mayday's concert is coming up soon. heard its the direct opposite of the last concert and its on a bigger scale. this time round should be held at the indoor stadium.
alright. that's bout all the updates as of today. im still stuck in toulon..till bout the 19th april before i leave for turkey. and will reach back home on the 19th of may. ciao! shall update soon!
